CARLOS GONZÁLEZ MANJARREZ / M.A., Ph.D.
DIRECTOR OF CG DESIGN /
Graduated in Graphic Design. Completed Master's Degree in Advertising with honors, focusing on research: In search of the Identity of Mexican Graphic Design. Holds diplomas in Animation and Character Creation, Web Design, Microsoft Teams, Teaching, and Identity, culture and criticism. Currently a PhD student in Education with research line in Gamification through eSports as a business motivation strategy.
Professional experience is primarily in Art Direction at Advertising Agencies such as Alazraki and Publicis México. Provided Creative Direction for renowned brands including Telmex, Banamex, Parmalat, Sección Amarilla, Sanborns, Grupo Modelo, Corfuerte, Astra Zeneca, and Allied Domecq, among others.
Served as a Professor at 20 Universities, teaching a wide range of subjects including Corporate Identity, Editorial Design, Poster Design, Interactive Design, Hypermedia, Web Design, 2D Animation, Illustration, Character Design, Digital Marketing, Studio Photography, Typography, Advertising, Creativity, Semiotics, and Methodology of Investigation. Directed the career of Design and Visual Communication. Created programs for diplomas in Photography and Character Design, as well as a new Bachelor of Production program in Animation and VFX with 3 specialties in Animation, Special Effects, and Digital Media. Actually professor at Design School at Anáhuac University Querétaro.
Won silver in the Visual Design category at the Nagoya Design Do 2002! in Japan. Received Gold in the Poster Category at the XII Quorum Prize. Selected 6 times for the International Poster Biennial of Mexico. Finalist in the Slovakia Triennial 2018 and in the Beijing Opera Art Poster Biennial in 2022.
Delivered Conferences and Workshops at National and International Levels. Invited as a Jury member for various contests including the 14th Poster Biennial in Mexico, Taiwan International Student Design Competition 2022-23, C-IDEA 2022-23 Australia, and partner of Poster Stellars 2022 to 2024 in New Jersey, U.S.A. Work has been exhibited collectively and individually in 30 countries. Board member of International Design Educator Group (C-IDEA) since 2023. Design work has been published in various Design Books, Conferences, and Magazines in Mexico and abroad.
Coordinated numerous exhibitions and events, including "Mexico and Japan, United for children against HIV", "20x20 Posters for Peace" involving Mexico, Denmark, Iran, the United States and several countries. Organized several Design Congresses in Querétaro and in 2012, the World Design Congress of the Mexico Poster Biennial. Coordinated "Illusion posters: Denmark and Mexico" (2022), Poster Stellars 2023 for Mexico, and "Posters of the Pekin Opera in Mexico" in 2023. Currently serving as Co-Director of 18th BICM in 2024.
